Mrs. Stewart's and Mrs. Lewis' class at Ackerman Elementary School did an Apple Oxidation Experiment to see which substance protected the apple from turning brown. Salt was the best protector, but it also dried the apple out and left a puddle of water under the plate. The class also made predictions about the experiment. #teamAES

FCE second graders have been focusing on blends, syllables, and rhyming in phonics. Today they had a battle of the brains. What better way to battle than boys verses girls? The group that came up with the most rhymes won!

Beginning next week, WES will start a 8 week perfect attendance incentive. All students who have perfect attendance will get a special treat weekly. Also, all students who have perfect attendance for the 8 weeks will participate in “Fun Day Cookout” on the playground and will have their name placed in a drawing for a special prize. The class who has the highest percentage of attendance will be rewarded with a Pizza Party.
