5th graders in Mrs. Margaret Taylor’s class at Ackerman Elementary School are working on their reading skills. Students are reading passages and breaking down information. Great job!

Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students at Ackerman Elementary School enjoyed some photo booth time with The Cat in The Hat for Read Across America Week!
4th graders at Ackerman Elementary School were treated to lunch at Umi to celebrate reaching their “On Fire for Reading” goal!
Students in fifth grade spent time reading Dr. Seuss books with students in first grade. It was great fun reading together!
Kindergarten students at Weir Elementary School were excited to have Ms. Angelia Ashford read The Thinga-ma-jigger Is Coming Today by Tish Rabe, featuring The Cat In The Hat. Each student was given a book that was donated by Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

It looks like the rain will miss us so baseball is still playing. Junior high will start at 3:30 followed by varsity then junior varsity. GO CHARGERS!!
Mrs. Hollis has her 5th graders at Ackerman Elementary School working hard on their math skills. Center work was on the agenda, and the students are doing a great job on their independent work, Accelerated Math, and with their teachers.

Mrs. Morrow’s 5th graders at Ackerman Elementary School are getting hands-on with learning about mixtures. Students are identifying materials, sorting them, and using tools to help determine their properties.
